The SaltLines Vision
SaltLines is a product-based geospatial intelligence platform operating at the intersection of Community, Climate, Conflict, and Commodities (the SaltLines). We deliver scalable, space-enabled insights for stakeholders in international development, defence, and the private sector. Our focus is on transformational commodities—resources like cobalt, timber, rare earth elements, and beef—that shape global supply chains and strategic decision-making. These commodities impact development priorities, trade dynamics, and geopolitical influence, especially in fragile or under-regulated regions such as the DRC, Brazil, and Nigeria. By fusing satellite data with socio-political analysis, we generate actionable insights that address ESG compliance, conflict risk, and climate resilience. Each dataset is engineered to serve multiple sectors, maximizing impact and profitability by producing three distinct, market-aligned outputs from a single source—making our intelligence three times more valuable.
The SaltLines Team
SaltLines is powered by a deeply experienced, cross-disciplinary team whose collective track record spans geospatial intelligence, environmental science, conflict analysis, and institutional reform. With over 100 years of combined experience across Africa, Asia, the Middle East, and fragile and conflict-affected environments worldwide, the team brings together practitioners from development, defense, environmental governance, and humanitarian sectors.
Our geospatial and remote sensing specialists have led the delivery of advanced satellite-based analytics, field-validated risk assessments, and certification-ready environmental modelling for clients including UN agencies, international donors, and private sector ESG teams. They have designed and scaled spatial intelligence systems across sectors ranging from natural capital valuation and sustainable land-use to counter-narcotics, humanitarian logistics, and ecosystem monitoring.
The SaltLines Method
SaltLines’ field-led approach is grounded in the belief that the people closest to the problem are key to the solution. Our analysts, investigators, and programme leads work directly with local partners and communities, integrating quantitative and qualitative field data with satellite imagery and open-source intelligence. This mixed-method fusion allows us to surface risks that are often missed by traditional models—such as informal governance, resource dispossession, or reputational exposure along commodity chains.
Together, the SaltLines team builds intelligence that is not only technically sound, but also politically attuned, contextually grounded, and decision-ready. This rare combination of spatial insight, investigative depth, and system-level thinking enables us to deliver programming that is trusted by partners across public, private, and development sectors.
